Share our faith with the world.

Share our faith with the world.

by Don Stubbs on July 14, 2022

So many of us really seem to struggle with the practice of sharing our faith or evangelism. There seems to be a deep fear around this act of faith, so much so that some Christians have never shared the Gospel of Christ with another person who does not know Christ.

If you really think about it, I feel that the reasons we don’t share is we make it more about having the right words, assuming people don’t want to hear, or they might be offended. And all those things might be true, but the power of the Gospel is not in the one sharing it. The power of the Gospel is in the truth of what the Gospel is and what the Gospel does.

In Romans 1:16 Paul states  “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

You see the power of the Gospel is the power of God for salvation. It’s not our power, how convincing, or how perfect we craft our technique. It’s not how bold we are, or how confident we are in our skills.

It is how much we trust the power of God to change someone, to save someone. We just need to say God we trust in Your power, not ours. God we know you have told us in Matthew 9:37&38-“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; [38] therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

So God please help us, when we are afraid, or we make excuses, help us trust that the Gospel will do its work. Help us know that while the Gospel is an interruption in to peoples lives, and some will reject it, some will receive it and be saved, and even if just one is saved it is more than worth it. And  yes sharing the Gospel is our responsibility

Isaiah 12:4 says “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted.”

And Matthew 28:18-20 states “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The salvation of a soul, is worth every fear, every doubt, every rejection, because Jesus has ask us to go and make disciples, and that starts with salvation. So ask God for the courage to overcome every thing that stops you from sharing the Gospel, and then just do it.
